Right Angles!

~~Right Angles~~
tile floors and lockers
The tiles represent right angles because there are actually right angles in the squares that the tile consists of. In the squares (tiles), two perpendicular lines meet up to make a 90 degree angle (right angle)
The lockers represent right angles because they have so many right angles in them, and they get the right angles by having two perpendicular lines meet up to make a 90 degree angle. There are right angles on the doors and corners.

Rotational Symmetry!

~~Rotational Symmetry~~
pinwheel

A pinwheel represents rotational symmetry because one piece is rotated a number of degrees, copied down, rotated the same number of degrees, copied down next to the other, and so on, until you reach the starting point again.

Trapezoid!

~~Trapezoid~~
swingset

A swingset is like a trapezoid because there are two parallel lines (one shorter than the other) connected by two slanting lines tilted toward each other. Also, there are two acute angles at the intersection of the bigger line and the slanted lines, and two obtuse angles at the inersection of the smaller line and the slanted lines.

Line Symmetry!

~~Line Symmetry~~
The Brooklyn Bridge in New York City
The Brooklyn Bridge in New York City represents line symmetry because it is a figure you can draw a line down the middle of, and have two identical sides.

Intro Paragraph

This blog is aimed at teens and older children that like to surf the Internet. They would be interested because it shows how math can be applied to real life. Also, it has pictures and minimal text. It benefits the readers because they will learn how to apply math concepts to their lives. We think that this is quality work because we took our time to find good example and definitions of the items.

Radius

A fan blade is like a radius because it goes from the center of a circle the edge of the circle.

Prism

a bunch of drawer is a like a bunch of prisms because a polyhedron with two congruent and parallel faces and whose lateral faces are parallelograms
